Planned Giving
Planned Giving and Estate Planning
What it is?
The Fort Worth Christian Legacy Society honors donors who aspire to leave a legacy by
creating permanent support and ensuring the future of FWC with a gift(s) to the endowment.
Why it is Essential?
The endowment secures the financial sustainability of FWCS and provides need-based and
merit-based scholarships to students desiring an excellent education rooted in Christian values.
In a changing world, North Tarrant County needs the educational option provided by Fort Worth
Christian School to teach excellence and equip students with a biblical worldview.
How to Become a Legacy Society Member?
Make a gift of $10,000 or more to the FWC endowment (payable over 2 years). The
$10,000 gift would be invested and not spent. The donor would have the option of
continuing to make gifts to the endowment with the goal of increasing it to $25,000 or
more. If the fund reaches $25,000, it will become a named endowment. The school will
provide annual reports on the endowment growth, interest earned, and how the funds are
distributed to support needs-based scholarship for deserving FWC students. Additional
gifts can be made to the name endowment throughout your life.
Name Fort Worth Christian School in a planned gift vehicle that is valued at $10,000 or
more. Planned gift vehicles include designating your named endowment account at FWC
as a beneficiary:
o Of your will(s);
o Of a life insurance policy;
o Of a retirement plan or IRA;
o Of a charitable trust or annuity (pays you income during your life with the
remainder passing to your named endowment account at your death).
What is a Named Endowment Account?
A named giving account at FWC can be created when a endowed gift or endowment fund
reaches $25,000. Donations can be received into the endowment account during donor’s life
and/or through the donor’s estate and their death. The principal gift and any additional gifts will
never be spent and will be invested to generate a predictable income stream that will be
distributed to FWC annually for scholarships and other priorities. Your account will continue into
perpetuity, creating a permanent legacy.
