Fort Worth Christian hosted its first on-campus cross country meet in 67 years on Saturday, where the Cardinals made history with strong team finishes, standout individual performances, and a memorable community atmosphere at the inaugural Cardinal Clash.
North Richland Hills, TX - It was a special morning at Fort Worth Christian on Saturday, as the school hosted a cross country meet on its own campus for the first time in 67 years. The event, called the Cardinal Clash, brought in nine schools and nearly 300 athletes to race the two-mile course that wound through familiar spots on campus.
The Cardinals made the most of their home-course advantage. The high school boys’ team took first place overall, placing six runners in the top 10. Kollin Green led the charge with an 11:21 finish, good for second place.
The middle school boys weren’t far behind, finishing second as a team. Cade Lewis stole the spotlight, winning the individual title with an impressive 11:25.
On the girls’ side, Finley Dale ran a strong race for the high school team, crossing in 14:06 to take fourth place overall.
What made the morning even more meaningful was the atmosphere. Parents, students, and staff lined the course that navigated its way through the campus. Running a meet at home for the first time in 67 years made the day feel bigger than just times and medals. For the Cardinals, the day was about more than just the final scores - it was about making history on their own campus and kicking off something new.
