Statement of Faith and Beliefs

Fort Worth Christian School stands firmly and with confidence upon the truth claims and moral foundations of Christianity, as expressed in the Bible - God’s inspired, authoritative, and unfailing Word (2 Timothy 3:16–17). Scripture is our guide for all matters of faith, identity, character, and conduct, and we seek to align every aspect of teaching and school life with its truth.

We believe all people are created in the image of God, yet because of sin are separated from Him and in need of a Savior. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and no one can restore their relationship with God through their own efforts or good works (Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2).

We believe Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the only Savior of the world and the only way to reconciliation with God. Through His sinless life, sacrificial death on the cross, and victorious resurrection, Jesus fully atoned for the sins of humanity and made forgiveness and new life possible (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4).

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by human merit or works, but is given freely to those who trust in Him (Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5).

We believe eternal life is found only in Jesus Christ. Those who receive Him are forgiven, adopted into the family of God, and will dwell with Him forever; those who reject Him remain separated from God for eternity (John 3:16; John 17:3; Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:46).

We believe in one God who exists eternally in a loving tri-unity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19). God the Father is the transcendent yet personal Creator of all things seen and unseen (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16). He rules heaven and earth with wisdom, holiness, and steadfast love. He demonstrates His care through daily mercies and answers to prayer and reveals His ultimate love by sending Jesus Christ for our salvation (John 3:16).

Jesus Christ, the Son, is fully God and fully human (John 1:1, 14). We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, sacrificial death for the sins of humanity, burial, bodily resurrection, ascension, and ongoing intercession for believers (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 4:15; Romans 8:34). The Holy Spirit indwells believers, convicting, comforting, guiding, and empowering them toward lives of holiness and service (John 14:26; Romans 8:11; Galatians 5:22–25).

All people are created in the image of God with inherent dignity and worth (Genesis 1:26–27). Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and in need of salvation (Romans 3:23). Salvation is a gift offered through Jesus Christ and received by grace through repentance and faith (Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8–9). Those who trust in Christ are adopted into God’s family, forgiven, and called to reflect His character in all things.

We believe the Bible is the authoritative and unfailing Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and sufficient for shaping Christian belief and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17). No one has the authority to add to or subtract from Scripture (Revelation 22:18–19). The Church is the Body of Christ, called to unity, worship, discipleship, fellowship, and service (1 Corinthians 12:12–27). Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and humanity will face eternal life with God or eternal separation from Him (John 5:28–29; Matthew 25:31–46).

Because we belong to Christ and are being transformed by the Holy Spirit, we seek to reflect His character and His Kingdom in all dimensions of life. We affirm that every person is worthy of honor, compassion, and respect because each one is made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). We acknowledge God’s creation of humanity as male and female - equal in dignity, distinct in design, and complementary in purpose - and we affirm the biblical truth that in Christ, we are neither male nor female (Galatians 3:28). While culture may offer competing narratives about identity, we affirm that our truest identity comes from being new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We affirm that God created and creates humans as male and female, biologically different but spiritually equal in dignity and responsibility (Genesis 1:27). These two genders are gifts within God’s ideal for humanity and reflect His good design. In Christ, we are neither male nor female, for our unity and identity are ultimately found in Him (Galatians 3:28). While culture may offer competing narratives about identity, we believe our truest identity comes from being new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We celebrate the beauty of diverse ethnicities, knowing that Scripture reveals God’s people as a multiethnic family of faith (Revelation 7:9). Because God shows no favoritism (Acts 10:34), we reject racism, prejudice, and discrimination of any kind, and we commit to walking in justice, mercy, and humility as Scripture commands (Micah 6:8). We honor the diversity of God’s creation while holding Christ as our unifying identity.

We affirm that human life is sacred from conception to natural death (Psalm 139:13–16) and that all people - regardless of age, ability, health, or circumstance - are to be valued, protected, and cared for. We believe that human identity cannot be reduced to physical appearance, attractions, or cultural labels; instead, our value is rooted in God’s design and Christ’s redemptive work. We reject all forms of sexual exploitation, objectification, harassment, and pornography, which distort God’s intention for human dignity and relationship.

We affirm that God designed the human body to be a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). Because of this, we commit to honoring God through healthy, disciplined stewardship of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, rejecting behaviors that harm the body or enslave the mind.

We believe marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6). This covenant calls spouses to mutual love, fidelity, respect, and sacrifice. We affirm singleness, as Scripture also presents it as a God-honoring calling (1 Corinthians 7:7). Sexual intimacy is designed by God to be expressed exclusively within the covenant of marriage, and we commit to upholding biblical purity and integrity in all relationships.

Because God calls His people to truth, integrity, and holiness, we commit to speaking truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), using words that build up rather than tear down (Ephesians 4:29), and pursuing what is excellent, praiseworthy, and pure (Philippians 4:8). We reject dishonesty, slander, gossip, profanity, and divisiveness. We believe Christlike character should guide every action, choice, and conversation.

Finally, we commit to relationships marked by grace, mercy, forgiveness, and kindness (Ephesians 4:32). Jesus commands His followers to love one another as He loved us (John 13:34). In moments of disagreement or conflict, we seek biblical reconciliation, humility, and unity, cultivating a community where every person feels known, valued, and supported.

This statement represents FWC’s understanding of biblical truth and the convictions that shape our identity, mission, and culture. It is not exhaustive, and the Fort Worth Christian School Board of Trustees holds final interpretive authority regarding the Bible’s meaning and its application to school policy, faith, practice, and discipline.
