In the Spotlight
It is an honor and blessing to work as the Director of Development of Fort Worth Christian School. One of the many rewards of my job is to be able to connect with our FWC families in different ways. Since late January, I have been assisting FWC parent Chad Campbell coordinate the video taping of the Taking Shape campaign video. It will be shown to kick off the public phase of the campaign at the Cardinal Gala on March 8. I hope you are planning to attend this year’s Gala as it will be another exciting and memorable FWC event you will not want to miss.

As a highlight of this video taping, I witnessed some amazing things in the classrooms and throughout the campus. At the risk of sounding like a typical Director of Development, we honestly do have the greatest school. Our teachers and staff revealed a love for the Lord and for our kids that is evident by their words and actions. I saw that the camera didn’t matter because students were absorbed in learning at a level that I have not seen in my twenty-one years of working in Christian education. I observed outstanding teachers who teach with God's excellence.

While taping throughout the campus, I became convinced more than ever that Fort Worth Christian School needs a chapel and fine arts center on our campus. The FWC Chapel & Performing Arts Center will provide a set apart and special place to unify our high school chapel, praise, and worship each day. This chapel will allow a venue for our middle and high school to come together to hear special speakers that equip and empower our students for life. A chapel building in the center of our campus would make its own statement that worshipping our Lord is the first priority.

A Performing Arts Center is also greatly needed at FWC. Our school is blessed to have many diverse talents and interests in areas such as music and drama. Having a Performing Arts Center will encourage student participation and help build their confidence through performances. One of the purposes of the facility is to create a lifelong love for drama and music for grades pre-K through 12. Our students will have the opportunity to perform on stage or work in a variety of technical roles that provide an environment to enhance student responsibility and motivation.

This facility will bless the students and families at Fort Worth Christian School in many ways and for many years. I am pleased to announce that in the coming days you will have an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Taking Shape campaign and to help make the FWC Chapel & Performing Arts Center a reality. Please be in prayer and consider joining us as we continue to build the campus at FWC for God’s Glory.
