Over the past year, the Board of Trustees and Administration of Fort Worth Christian School have prayerfully undertaken the task of developing a vision for campus facilities that will serve the school for the next 50 years. A goal was established for our maximum enrollment and then what space might be needed to serve that number of students.
Based on our history and the amount of land we have, the growth target was set at an increase of 25% with a total maximum enrollment of 1100 students campus wide. Our current enrollment is approximately 870 students.
Programs were reviewed to determine what facility requirements should be considered to meet the needs for all academic and extra-curricular activities.
The current facilities were inspected and reviewed by Hahnfeld, Hoffer, and Stanford Architectural Firm (HHS) to determine their viability in the areas of structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical soundness.
HHS developed a master plan to establish placement of new buildings and additions along with renovation of some of the current buildings with the goal of providing space and facilities to meet our future enrollment and program needs. This plan also included the ability to fence off and secure the campus by establishing a single secure access point.
The Board of Trustees prioritized the building phases, and with the help of HHS, a detailed plan will be established for each phase with as estimated cost for each phase.
For your perusal, we have included a copy of the master plan. While there are no aspects of this plan that are 100% set and while there are many decisions about the location of certain components, we are excited to have this preliminary concept and want to share it with the FWC family.
The timetable for any of the projects will be based on need and available funding.
We welcome you to stop by the President's office and take a more detailed look at this drawing on a larger scale.
