Boys' Cross Country team takes 2nd in state
The FWC boys' cross country team took 2nd in the state meet Saturday, October 17, in Waco. Nathan Parish placed 3rd at 17:39.50. Others on the boys' team were Dustin Sandoval(7th at 17:48.50), Austin Cotton (11th at 17:58.80), Adam Stefkovich (12th at 18:02.80), Richard Tharpe (31st at 18:53.80), Toly Stefkovich (49th at 19:54.10). and Hayden Vinz (53rd at 20:03.90).
The lone entry on the girls' team, Kinsey Starks, placed 120th at 18:29.20.

HS Cross Country at Carroll (9/12)
The FWC cross country team ran in the Soutlake Carroll Invitational on Saturday, September 12. The varsity boys ran in the elite division and finished 12th out of 16 teams. The top 5 finishers were Dustin Sandoval, Nathan Parish, Adam Stefkovich, Austin Cotton, and Richard Tharp.
The varsity girls were represented by Kinsey Starks, who ran a 17:40. Leading the JV boys were Toly Stefkovich and James Goodall.

Cross Country at Grace Prep Relays (8/22)
The 2009 Cross Country season is officially underway. The team began the season at the Grace Prep Relays on Saturday, August 22. It was a 3-man 5200-meter relay. Varsity team 1, comprised of Adam Stefkovich, Austin Cotton, and Nathan Parish, finished 2nd overall. Varsity team 2, comprised of Richard Tharp, Riley Davis, and Dustin Sandoval finished 4th overall.
JV team 1 finished 2nd in the JV division. It was comprised of Hayden Vinz, Lee Ashley, and Jon Harder. JV team 2, comprised of Toly Stefkovich, TJ Robinson, and Tyler Hair, finished 4th in the JV division.

HS Cross Country at Baylor Invitational (9/19)
The FWC high school cross country team traveled to Waco for the Baylor Invitational on Saturday, September 19.
Varsity team #1 ran in the 4A/5A division and took second place. Dustin Sandoval finished 4th, Nathan Parish 6th, Adam Stefkovich 9th, and Austin Cotton 11th.
Varsity team #2 ran in the small school division and finished 22nd. They were led by Mason Starks and Stephen Mead. The JV boys were led by Daniel Delrosario. Kinsey Starks was our lone runner on the girls' side. She ran in the small school varsity division.

Cross Country at Elk Run (9/4)
The high school cross country team competed in the Elk Run on September 4. The varsity boys ran in the public school 5A division and held their own. They finished 6th place overall. The team was led by Dustin Sandoval (4th place), Nathan Parish (8th place), Adam Stefkovich (26th place), Austin Cotton (68th place), and Hayden Vinz (87th place). There were 19 teams and 146 runners in the race.

Middle School Cross Country District Meet (10/21)
The boys and girls middle school cross country teams ran in the district meet on Wednesday, October 21. They both finished in 2nd place behind Southwest Christian.
In the boys race, five Cardinals finished in the top 20 - Kyle Nichols (2nd), Riley Gage (4th), Cannon Jones (5th), Micah Poag (6th), and Sheldon Hair (17th).
Tiffany Van Hoose won the girls race. She finished 1st, followed by Hannah Koester (7th), Mckenzie Dunlap (8th), Maddie Thannum (15th), and Miranda Tandy (17th).

HS Boys' Cross Country named District Champs, Four placed on All-District Team
Based on the results at the state meet, the boys' cross country team has been declared district champs.
Four runners have been named first team all district - Nathan Parish, Dustin Sandoval, Austin Cotton, and Adam Stefkovich. Parish and Sandoval have also been named Academic All State.

Cross Country at Keller Classic (10/3)
The Cardinal cross country team competed in the Keller Classic on Saturday, October 3. The meet was run at Indian Springs Middle School. The varsity boys team finished in 14th place in the UIL 5A Varsity division. The team was led by Nathan Parish (21st) and Dustin Sandoval (22nd).
The JV boys team finished in 8th place in the UIL 4A JV division. The team was led by Tyler Hair (6th).
Kinsey Starks represented the girls by running in the UIL 4A Varsity division.
The middle school also ran in this meet. Cannon Jones finished 3rd overall and Micah Poag finished 7th. The top girl finisher was Tiffany Van Hoose.

Cross Country at Greenhill Relays (8/29)
The boys cross country team competed in the Greenhill Relays Saturday, August 29. It was a 4 x 1.5 mile relay.
Varsity Team #1 (Nathan Parish, Austin Cotton, Adam Stefkovich, Dustin Sandoval) ran in the Elite Division. They finished 13th out of 50 teams. Varsity Team #2 (Richard Tharp, Riley Davis, Hayden Vinz, Mason Starks) ran in the small school division and finished 26th out of 57 teams.
JV Team #1 (Tyler Hair, Matt Ryan, Jon Harder, Toly Stefkovich) finished 23rd in the JV A division. JV Team #2 (Brandon Keck, Lee Ashley, TJ Robinson, James Goodall) also ran in the JV A division and finished 38th.
