Swimming at State Meet (2/5-6)

Walker Embrey made it through prelims to qualify in the Individual 100-yard butterfly where he finished 6th in the state. Garrison Efird made it through prelims to swim in the individual breaststroke where he finished 8th in the state.
 
One relay, the 200 freestyle, made it past prelims and into finals to finish 8th in the state.
 
Walker Embrey achieved his personal best time in the individual butterfly at 1:08.24 and Garrison Efird achieved his personal best time in his individual breaststroke with a time of 1:09.
 
Chris Akin was scheduled to swim both relays, but became ill. Blake Anderson, who achieved his personal best time in the backstroke in prelims but did not make finals, competed in the relays in place of Akin. Anderson was a major contributing reason the relay made it out of prelims and into finals.
 
Jon Akin, while he did not make finals in his individual 500-yd freestyle event, also achieved a personal best time.
