The students at Fort Worth Christian School are involved in 21st Century Learning with MacBooks and iPads. Each high school and middle school student is issued an Apple MacBook, a school email account, and a login to Moodle (our online learning community). The MacBooks are used in most classes daily and for assignments at home. Even papers are submitted online through turnitin.com.
Each elementary school classroom has access to a set of Apple iPads in addition to two or three student PC computers in each classroom. Elementary school students attend computer class at least once a week in a 22-station PC computer lab and have access to a 20-station PC lab in the library.
Each classroom on campus has a ceiling-mounted projector and a document camera for the teacher's use. All buildings (and some outside areas) have access to two wireless networks - one open for phones and other devices brought to the campus and one encrypted for the MacBooks and iPads.
In addition to our web site, we maintain a Facebook page and a page on You Tube. Live updates for our athletic events are posted on Twitter. Our baseball and softball games are broadcast through GameChanger.
The newest addition to the technology at Fort Worth Christian is the FWC App. Available in both the Apple Store and the Android Store, the FWC App will run on an iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, or Android device. The App allows the user to browse the calendar; read eNews; check on athletic events, schedules, news, and hotline; watch the newest video about the school as well as view other items related to admissions; and view a map to the school, the school's Facebook and Twitter pages, and the school's web site - all from within the App.
To get the FWC App, either point a QR Reader on your device to the appropriate link below or search for Fort Worth Christian School in the Apple Store or the Android Store.
